Super Bright Pig's Feet?

A new Bak Kut Teh recipe!

Was in Klang Utama looking for lunch. At a coffee shop, we came upon a Bak Kut Teh (pork rib soup) stall displaying various types of dishes.

Was puzzled on one dish called "halogen Pig's feet".

Drat! What was it again?

Dunno.
Wanted to try it but it was sold out!
Must be good because of someone's 'bright' idea...ha!Ha!....

Holy Bak Kut Teh!

BKT Monks.

We are still puzzled at this scenerio.

Klang is the capital of Bak Kut Teh.
Monks eating Bak Kut Teh.

Aren't they vegans?
It is past 2pm in the afternoon, and shouldn't they be in the temples?
Is this for real?
Come on, please do not tell me that not all of them are vegetarians.
Claypots and chinese tea some more!
Yummy! Ha!Ha!
Also.
Please don't tell me that they do not go back to the temples before 12 noon and they are also allowed to beg at pasar malams at night! Nuns(leekor) in white are also seen begging at food courts after 1pm.
Or even circulating Gambling chances via leaflets from the temples.

We don't even know what is real or fake anymore.
A leaflet/flyer received at our letterbox at home recently and many more before this.
[Important disclaimer & caution:- Do not call the phone number above. Do so at your own risk.]

Or, is it a Money Bags year? Prooboh!

Are times that bad?
Even spiritual times? Duh!

Bak Kut Th'ng

New Dish On The Block

Wanna try a new dish here in Klang?

It sounds like the Klang's famous Bak Kut Teh (Pork Rib Soup) but it is not.
It is Bak Kut Teng (Th'ng) as in 'soup' and the receipe is from Northern Thailand.

No dried spices and MSG is ever used.
Only FRESH garden HERBS goes into the soup and a special method of retaining the goodness of the taste of the meat is applied.

The Chefs are formerly from a well known Crab Restaurant in Subang Jaya which was famous for their fiery 'hot' chilli Crabs. Restaurant 'Or'Teng Bak Kut Teng is located along the famous Mee Hun Kueh shop and the Pao Xiang Bak Kut Teh outlet.
It is at No. 37, Lorong Bangau, Taman Berkeley, 41150 Klang Selangor.

We like the fresh taste and it is very delicious. It is very different and we wish many can accept it as a new dish. No, it is not even like the Bak Kut of the South which is peppery.

You gotta try it out and we are going back for some more.

A HD Video is made here.

Enjoy!

Best in Klang 2009

Bak Kut Teh

For four years in a row, we have voted this outlet as our best. It is a very difficult choice to make because many BKT stalls are good too.

There are almost a hundred Bak Kut Teh stalls in and around Klang and we like this one because the BKT is delicious. It is a family-run business and the cook is always hands-on. The shop is well lighted, clean and the service IS fast even though it is always crowded to the brim.

We have tried every BKT shops in Klang and this place do not disappoint.

Bak Kut Teh is a Klang invention. A Malaysian dish. Period.
(Do not forget to ask for fried shallots to add to the rice.)

The original BKT is served in small individual bowls and the serious players & die-hards still look towards this style. Many prefers the 'claypot' version mainly due to eating in groups and families.

Our HD Video presentation is on Teluk Pulai (Pottery) Bak Kut Teh located in Sungei Rasah, Klang. It is located after the Sg. Rasah Toll, keep left, turn left for the traffic lights and turn right.
The Google earth GPS co-ordinance is as follows:- 3 degrees 03'22.92"N and 101degrees 28' 27.60"E. Please click HERE to view the HD Video at Youtube.
