Birds Laughing Too!

Our country is going downhill as far as maturity and integrity are concerned.

Stupid ideas are being brought up just to please the 'elders'. Patriotism is always about experiences of love, courage, consideration, faith, kindness and togetherness shown between neighbours, relatives and friend for the love of our place of birth irrespective of who is 'pendatang or not'. The shitty political situation we face today make one regret and would not give two hoots who is running our beloved country anymore.

Things are getting so out of hand that even in Cinemas starting today, one is tested for patriotism to the hilt. Even after paying a hefty tickets....

Now, the birds are laughing too.

Just watch an Australian Kookaburra laughing his head off ( at the San Deigo Zoo )

Just why is this so?
Duh!

Happy Malaysia Day Folks.

Bird's Eye View

Cool!

Since photographing and videographing birds have always interest me, I may change my 'eye' view this time around. I may now shoot from the view of the birds.

Recently on the news is a hot topic called Hexacopter Cam.

Just Google it and I got loads of information.
One of the brand available is the Versadrones, sells for only RM999 ( did I get it right?) and it is cool.

http://www.versadrones.com/

We can fly WITH the eagles and crows here in Klang.
Just watch the video from Versadrones.

Need to control it carefully though, otherwise it will fall on to someone's house and he may not believe that I am just a bird videographer!

UHD launched in South Korea

Ultra High Definition TV which is four times clearer than HD TV has been launched in South Korea. It is the first country outside the inventor country, NHK Japan.

http://english.etnews.com/enterainment/2801235_1305.html

Most of our Flat panel TV is now in HD 1080p (1920 x 1080p) but the content from Assthrow is NOT at 1080p but at 720p (  a minimum at entry level for High Definition). One just cannot imagine that all new TV programs are produced, edited and recorded on HD BUT transmitted to us at standard definition even via Assthrow or Unified!!! Images are also distorted (squeezed or stretched) to fit the TV picture ratio of 16:9 from the old fomat of 4:3. Just go to Unified TV to look. Malu!

Our Ministry of Broadcasting's go at high definition is still stuck inside some cupboard and would they be launching when things go obsolete? They were then testing the 720p way back in 2008!!!

Ultra High Definition's resolution is at 3840 x 2160 (2160p) It is also known as 4K.
You can read more of UHD at Wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra_high_definition_television

We are at a loss as why Malaysia, our beloved country keeps boasting of so much 'first' this and that but lack technological advancement that could create more jobs in this creative field.
Just compare the benefits.

Wake up Malaysians!!!

Woman Bites Back!

A police officer in Singapore was bitten four times while trying to arrest a Vietnamese woman caught in a Geylang raid last nite.

Read Asiaone online news
http://www.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNews/Crime/Story/A1Story20130717-437835.html

They may now be toying with the idea of using muzzles to prevent risk of officers going for tetanus jab after every similar raids. Here are some ideas:-
Too heavy? Still risky for fingers?

Quite ok but still dangerous?

Maybe this one is perfect!

Haha!

Irresponsible Parents!

Kid almost fell off Gravity ride at Theme Park!

It is totally stupid to put a kid on one of these rides and parents should be aware that fun has its limit. It is shocking that the operator staff (a foreigner?) can allow such exception that can be proved fatal.
Where is the supervisor/ manager of this theme park? Hope he is not a foreign worker as well!
Such third class mentality!

Be warned folks.

A Failure!

3D : A Proven Failure!

Some 6 years ago, I did a silent forecast about the re-emergence of the Three Dimensional format. During my youth days, I saw cineflix such as "The 13 Ghost" in black & white, right up to remakes/reissues in 3D at the cinemas. And then, they brought it into the idiot box, the TV.

The TV technology used in our country was so far behind and out-of-time that the more urgent thing the authorities should do was to quickly introduce HD (High Definition in 1080p) instead of depending on the Assthrow's 720p (1080i).
Then, so many who are ignorant about HD, Full HD (fool's HD) jumped into the pool of confusion, ended up buying TVs that they could not use it to the fullest unless one has a Blu-Ray player.
Some even spent extra on 3D without knowing the whole story. Is it because the sales person who coax you on a bargain resulted on your decision?

Just look at TM's Hypo TV service. We chucked our unify's box top set into the trash. I felt more being insulted using that 'free' TV. It is not on HD as suggested and it is more of 'streaming TV'. Those so called 'free' programs are now chargeable and we end up getting some low class rejects plus the usual seven worthless local TV stations.

Back to the 3D frustration.

Just what is it that we, here in Malaysia wants to see in 3D? The shows are very limited. Just how many TV stations shows 3D? Assthrow? Unify? local stations? Fat hopes.

How about DVD? Hey DVD is 'old tech' and the quality do not exceed 600p. Only the Blu-Ray has 1080p. Unless one also uses a media player there is no other way to watch HD programmes let alone 3D. 3D seriously need HD  frequency to broadcast off air and at present we do not have even one TV station in HD. The ministry is so lacking that all video production in HD are broadcast in the old SD(standard definition) which is about 43 years old! All production equipment even in angkasapuri, are in HD. The cameras, lighting, editing, etc are in HD. The problem lies in the old transmission equipment. they failed to spend the necessary mulla.
Then, how could 3D succeed?

Just read what Bob Zitter of HBO (Home Box Office) has to say on the failure.
http://www.eoshd.com/content/9856/3d-a-proven-failure-4k-unlikely-to-succeed-hbo

Japan and other advanced countries are now broadcasting in UHD (Ultra High Definition) 4K.

So folks, please stop helping them (the dealers) to clear their stocks by paying more.

3D is proven dead (again)

Meow!

Bookshop for Dummies!

Poor Service: Are they not proud to have a job?

Dropped by the Bukit Rajah Shopping complex here in Klang.
Wanted to buy three items on my shopping list.
One of the item was:

A book entitled: "SW radio listening for Dummies"
    Walked into MPH.
We have shopped here before, but it was since....'transformed'.

"Excuse me ma'am, where can I find books for Dummies?"
"Err...yes, behind there, near the 'Teen Reading' section"
    "OK thanks,.. I'll go look"
After 3 minutes of searching, I went back to the counter.
    "Ma'am, I can't find it..."
She turned into a sourpuss and left her counter grudgingly.
    I followed her.
I too was looking for the familiar yellow and black book.
    "Sold out!" she said.
    "Huh? What sold out?"
    "The book,...all sold out!"

Duh!!!!! This truly is a bookshop for Dummies.

Are they not proud to have a job? Why can't they give service with a smile? It looks like we, the customers are bugging them and wish that we disappear quick, quick!

Maraysia Bohliau!

The Bible 2013

3.3.13

The date above is special, very special.

The History Channel will premier a new Mini-Series entitled "The Bible"
It is a five part  ten-hour movie starting on 3rd. March, 2013 with the final episode screening on Easter Day.
The movie covers Genesis up to the Resurrection.

It is produced by a husband and wife team. Mark Burnett (The Survivor, The Voice) and Roma Downey (actress in Touched by an Angel) who also acted as Blessed Virgin Mary in this series.

A very touching song "Mary Did You Know" is the official soundtrack performed by Ceelo Green.

Hollywood's CGI (computer graphic imaging) is not spared in producing the scene of 'the burning bush' and 'the parting of the Red Sea' by Moses.

You can view the trailers here from You Tube

All these in High Definition and Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio.

The Nativity scene is below.

Real or Bluff Wan?

Imitation Abalone.

Strolling along the Hypermarket's aisle especially the frozen seafood counters, we came across many types of seafood being offered for sale. Frozen abalone is one of them.

As anyone in Malaysia (also other Asian countries) knows, abalone is a highly prized  item. It used to be cheap (in 1960) until it was taxed highly by the authority. When they lowered the tax, the price did not come down.

Till today, canned abalones are placed in 'special' counters next to the cash registers in Chinese medical and speciality shops due to its high cost. Fear of shop lifting loss is high.
That also reminded me of a fateful trip (back in the 70s) to South Thailand for holidays when we were suckered into buying 'canned abalones' at a special price. We bought almost all of the stocks from this store. It turned out to be canned rambutans (fruit) with a fake label. Duh!

It is a 'must-have' when celebrating special occasions at Chinese restaurants especially at wedding feasts.

We spotted a fake at this hypermarket and one need to read the 'fine print' to confirm that it is squid and not abalone you are buying.

Besides its vegetarian version which is made from flour, these fakes are made with large squids, thinly sliced, soaked and processed with monosodium glutamate (MSG) for taste, add artificial abalone flavouring, salt and dark caramel sauce to look and taste like the real thing.

It is also sold at a high price for extreme profits.

Frozen Smoke? South America? Abalone? Squid!!!!! Sotong!!!!!
Is this false advertising? Hey where is the gormen?

One got to be careful when ordering such seafood to be served at weddings because many guests are  now aware of such rubbish. One would not like to be called a cheapskate would you?
Another scam is also abound..................it is called ........bullshit sharksfin!!!!

Oh dear, just why are we so ignorant?

Super Bright Pig's Feet?

A new Bak Kut Teh recipe!

Was in Klang Utama looking for lunch. At a coffee shop, we came upon a Bak Kut Teh (pork rib soup) stall displaying various types of dishes.

Was puzzled on one dish called "halogen Pig's feet".

Drat! What was it again?

Dunno.
Wanted to try it but it was sold out!
Must be good because of someone's 'bright' idea...ha!Ha!....
