3 Boats, 3 Chairs and a Plank!

Where Da F*ck is the Pulau Ketam Jetty?

Visited Pulau Ketam a few days ago and was very disappointed at what we have seen and experienced.

Isn't this place also a tourist spot? Why are tourists being treated this way?
Importantly, just why are the folks of Pulau Ketam also treated like this daily?

Why spend Billions of Ringgit on places that became a 'stinko' and being abandoned like the infamous PKFZ?
The completed Bandar Armada Putra project (next to the Star Cruise Terminal) is like a haunted township with shops and homes stripped off its metal doors, aluminium windows and is heavily overgrown with bushes!

Yet the Pulau Ketam citizens are deprived of a decent jetty for their DAILY trips to and from the mainland. If you don't believe me, just try to go to Pulau Ketam for a trip!

Firstly, the old jetty is gone and have been boarded up for many years. Next to it (on the left) is the "passenger terminal" for those workers in the construction industry and maids. Wah! they get first class treatment with air conditioned waiting rooms for their 'international' trip back to Dumai, Indonesia!

Then just where is the jetty to get a ferry to Pulau Ketam?
Like we did, we went searching.
There were NO signboards, nor any tourist information centre or any thing that can show us where the jetty is!
For your information, there is NO jetty at all! What da f*ck!
Why are we Tax paying Malaysians get such cocked up treatment?

The next came as a shocker.

We were told that one must go INTO the Jabatan Marin building (supposedly to be a security area!), walk down to their pier (another security area), climb up and walk across three friggin' Marine Department Boats (more like ships, another security breach) after crossing a worn out PLANK!
Then climb down to the ferry using three piled-up (frigging) plastic chairs!!!!!! I would have sweared that a German Tourist said some bad words because she nearly fell into the sea!!!
Mother and kids were not spared at all.
An elderly lady in her eighties holding a walker also have to do this task! Talk about National Service.
Dear Authorities, please lah, go down there and see all these for yourselves! Just get your arse out of your air-conditioned room and see how people suffer everyday! Sometime ago a VVIP said something about Klang being declared a 'Developed City'!

Yah, yah, you have said (many years ago) that a new jetty is being built but why is it taking so long?
What f*ck. Stop all these talking 'Cock' and do the needy for your own citizens now!
Please help the folks of Pulau Ketam.

Another thing, about the ferry. You gotta see this for your self! What da laugh! I thought I was flying on a Fokker F27 aircraft! Malaysia really Boleh! Cyber this and that!

By the way, do you know where is this place after all?

A Strange Looking Moth

AWESOME COLORS!

Last night, while still learing how to use the new AVCHD Camcorder, an interesting subject appeared before me. It was a large Moth which I have never seen before. Inspite of being a 'nature person' and have been around almost every nook and crannies in our jungles, this beautiful green colored Moth came into our home. It rested on the front grille of my JBL speaker.
Must have loved the sound system too.

Any nature buff or Moths specialists out there can help me identify this moth? Is this rare?Common?

This picture was shot on the new Panasonic HDC-TM300 AVCHD Camcorder which can double as a photographic camera at 10Mps on 1080HD.
We live here in Klang, Selangor.

Thanks

It is Coming Back!

EL NINO is Coming!

Like it or not, the weather change is coming back. As early as next month (May 2009), our weather is going to heat up just like in 1998.

For more details, see the article on Asia Sentinel here.

The 'good' news is that due to the heat, palm oil, rice, rubber trees are going to be affected thus shooting up world prices. Good or Bad?
Good if you are in Commodities trading. Bad is, if you are eating rice like a 'rice pot!'

Maybe, we should all cycle without our clothes on! Yeah, Hot Stuff!

So be warned!

Ouch!

Dangerous Wings!

Just received an email from a concerned friend. He cautioned about eating, of all things, chicken wings! This is one of the most delicious part of the chook, yet the deadliest!!!
Yummy! Just look at this!

This recent circular, from a renown Doctor, is not to be taken lightly as we also know that Singaporeans are very health conscious.

The note says ".......Chicken Wings - It's Dangerous......

Avoid eating chicken wings frequently - ladies, especially; a true story...!

A friend of mine recently had a growth in her womb and she underwent an operation to remove it. The cyst removed was filled with a dark colored blood.. She thought that she would be recovered after the surgery but she was terribly wrong.

A relapse occurred just a few months later. Distressed , she rushed down to her gynecologist for a consultation.

During her consultation, her doctor asked her a question that puzzled her.
He ask if she was a frequent consumer of chicken wings and she replied yes, wondering as to how, he knew of her eating habits.

You see, the truth is in this modern day and age; chickens are injected with steroids to accelerate their growth so that the needs of this society can be met. This need is none other than the need for food..

Chickens that are injected with steroids are usually given the shot at the neck or the wings.
Therefore, it is in these places that the highest concentration of steroids exists.
These steroids have terrifying effects on the body as it accelerates growth.. It has an even more dangerous effect in the presence of female hormones, this leads to women being more prone to the growth of a cyst in the womb.

Therefore, I advise the people out there to watch their diets and to lower their frequency of consuming chicken wings!

People, who receive this email, please forward it to your friends and loved ones. I am sure no one wants to see him or her suffer! ................"

Early last year, I was doing a research about our local chickens. Some are sold (cost more) as ABRF chickens....i.e [Anti-Biotic Residual Free]. I came across so much information that I have reduced tremendously, my intake of poultry. This is what I have found too.

Wanna guess what all these high tech. tools are all about?

You would want to eat less chicken from now on!
Trust me.

Just leave all the Birds alone.

The Stork have arrived!

NEW BABY!
The Panasonic HDC-TM300

Just purchased a new camcorder today.

This new baby was launched last week. Needing a High Definition video camera to record on the new AVCHD format, I selected this model because it is the best at the moment. I chose this over my other favourite brand, the Sony. Panasonic have taken this model as their flagship and with advanced features in technology, they made it affordable too. This left Sony way behind!!!!

The main plus points are as follows:-

1) Full Solid State Recording without any (HDD) Hard Disk Drive. It is on SDCard.
2) 3xMOS 1/4.1" Sensors. That means three sensors. Not one!
3) Optional Manual Controls for focusing, zoom, aperture, shutter speed & white balance!
4) Zoom microphone control including Dolby5.1 System.

5) Leica Dicomar lenses with 12x Optical Zoom
6) Full High Definition 1920x1080 AVCHD format.
7) 10.6 megapixels still picture recording.
8) HD Crystal Engine.
9) Ultra small in size and weigh only 385 gms (less battery)

It will take a while to build-up my HD footage and will be featuring some clips on You Tube in HD format soon.

As for shooting birds in the wild, this time in HD video, I am planning to marry this camcorder to the Swarovski STS 80 HD Spotting Scope. This is really getting up close and personal!

Of course, storage of HD files in preparation of HD video editing, my data banks of HDD is ready and is at 5TB Raid system.
It is gonna be a lot of work!

Cooked Our Own!

BAKED CRABS

Managed to get the freshest flower Crabs from our coastal town recently and prepared our favourite Baked Crabs ala 'Kemaman'.

We used only the large sized ones and the fresh meat of these 'blue-manna' is unforgetable!

We seriously do not recommend that you buy them from the hypermarts because it looks like they have been 'selected' and 'sorted' out from so many kind/varieties. It also looked like it was obtained from different places. The colour and pattern differs. Our local ones are of the same 'batch' and still have fresh looking eyes! The frozen ones lost all their eyes due to freezing!

That pleasantly reminded us of our fishing trip off Perth, Western Australia in a seaside town of Mandurah. It was the season and after obtaining a license, we caught almost 200 crabs! All alive and kicking! Shot that on Hi-8 Video.

This is how we did ours. Yummy! This is the original "Kemaman" crabs when we were there early last year (below)
Yummy too! But still miss the Kemaman "Hai Peng" coffee!!
